Trial Line Attorneys Unit
Assistant Solicitor-Generals are responsible for the prosecution of all cases assigned to their division, except Special Victims Unit (“SVU”) cases. They handle an array of cases, including theft by shopliftings, DUIs, battery, and criminal trespass matters, to name a few.
Assistant Solicitors represent the Solicitor-General’s Office in court and at the arraignment, trial, motion, jail plea, bond forfeiture and bench trial calendars. They are responsible for accusing the cases by the accusation deadline, sending cases to the Diversion Unit, recommending cases for transfer to the SVU and District Attorney’s Office, as well as the dismissal of cases. Deputy Chief Tyler Edgerton oversees the day-to-day tasks of our attorney division.
