MISSION OF THE OFFICE OF THE DEKALB COUNTY SOLICITOR-GENERAL

It is the duty of this Office to seek justice, protect victims’ rights, ensure fairness and promote public safety. I am committed to serving the citizens of this county by building a better, safer DeKalb.

Solicitor-General Goals

  • Working to end the cycle of domestic violence.
  • Partnering with local businesses, community organizations, and law enforcement.
  • Focusing on improving our schools through direct involvement.
  • Protecting our seniors by increasing awareness of elder abuse crimes and indicators.

Who We Are

The DeKalb County Solicitor-General’s Office, under the direction of Donna Coleman-Stribling, prosecutes more than 13,000 misdemeanor crimes committed in DeKalb County each year. Those cases include domestic violence, elder abuse, cruelty to children, vehicular homicide, drunk driving, harassment and stalking, trespassing and animal cruelty.

Community Outreach

Improving the quality of life for DeKalb residents is rooted in prosecuting crime and deterring crime through community prosecution − a nationally-proven method that uses a proactive, integrated, solutions-based and grassroots approach to combat quality-of-life crimes in targeted areas through partnerships among the community, police and prosecutors.
